WAVE OF PEACE RECORD LABEL

Mitch Winston, the current president of the Wave of Peace Foundation, has acted as financial partner, executive producer, and record label owner of several prestigious entertainment releases. These projects include but are not limited to:

Jack Kerouac, Dr. Sax & the Great World Snake –  The only screenplay that Jack Kerouac ever wrote, adopted from his novel Dr. Sax, this work was previously unpublished and unreleased until Winston’s group got involved.  The full text was packaged alongside an originally recorded double-CD with new music by jazz legends Medeski, Martin & Wood, and readings by author Jim Carroll (The Basketball Diaries), beatnik poets Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Robert Creely, and The Grateful Dead’s primary lyricist, Robert Hunter.

Lost Songs of Lennon & McCartney – After gaining the rights to release various songs written by John Lennon & Paul McCartney that the Beatles never recorded, Winston’s group put together a band consisting of The B-52’s Kate Pierson, rock legend Graham Parker, Cheap Trick, and recorded and released these songs to critical acclaim.

Rock and Reggae Releases (Nude Rhythm, Strictly Vocals, Khani Jones’ Ancient Spirits, and Winston’s Right Back) - Winston’s group partnered up and released these albums, which featured legendary rock musicians Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), Vernon Reid (Living Color), Jane Scarpantoni (Nirvana), Dave Mattacks (Fairport Convention); and reggae icons Sean Paul, Toots & the Maytals, Kymani Marley, Gregory Isaacs, and Dennis Brown.

The Foundation will be accepting submissions for its record label in spring, 2007.  With the recent completion of its music studio, the Foundation is now fully equipped to record (or release the previously recorded music) of any particular artist. All artists must be uniquely talented and willing to give 50% of their profits to charity. Please do not send any unsolicited materials!  However, if you are an artist or anyone else who wishes to learn more about our record label, please email only:   Records@WaveOfPeace.org
